PA Feedback: War Crimes and Revolutionary Vanguards

Learning from Ariel Sharon

How can anyone be surprised that the U.S. has resorted to war crimes in its collective punishment of civilians for downing the Black Hawk helicopter? For some time it has been obvious that there is an eagerness in the Bush administration to apply Sharon?s tactics in the war of Arab genocide currently being waged against the Palestinians by Israel. After all, we learned well the effects of slaughtering civilians in Sharon?s attempt to destroy morale. My feelings go beyond shame, for we have become a nation morally no better than Nazi Germany.

Dennis could get much support were he to name a dream cabinet and publicize it.

Time to Get Fitted for the Driver’s Seat

Dear Mark:

Can’t say I much disagree with your assessment of Stan Goff, having followed his column Military Matters on the Freedom Road Socialist website for some months now. I think Stan overstates quite a bit on logistics of battle in the field. I’m no specialist, have no experience, but I think he seriously underestimated the viciousness and preparation of the U.S. initial assault on Iraq, and overestimated the capacity of the Iraqi people to resist at the time. I mean, from this far away, who wouldn’t have?

I’m not familiar with his new book, but as a kid in a family that’s been military for generations, I can appreciate his “in your face” perspective as regards the military establishment, which has ruined the lives of more members of my family than I care to think about. As a high school teacher, anytime I see their recruiting grunts in the vicinity of my high school, I try to extend the school rule that forbids access to campus by representatives of armed gangs. Of course, I always lose that battle, but nothing stops me from dumping their bloody brochures in the recycling bin when nobody’s looking. And let the bastards in administration cast any aspersions they may. I was asked about it once and I just said, “well, you know, just because I’m outspoken doesn’t mean I’m the one who’s doing it. A lot of other people don’t like recruiters either, they’re just afraid to say so. Maybe this was them.” Let them look around and figure it out if it’s so damn important, huh? #### ‘em if they can’t take a joke, na?

Back to Stan Goff. Where I agree with him one hundred percent is on the “if” you mention at the end of their piece. Ain’t no ruling class in the United States going to act right anymore, and Stan sees that quite clearly. It’s over. Done. This is why you have Democrats talking about appealing to something called “Nascar dads”. They think that’s acceptable discourse. They’ve capitulated to Reaganism redux. The Democrats would have to stop lecturing us on who’s electable - you know, Dean is, Kucinich isn’t - and go out and do the footwork to make the most progressive guys electable. They don’t want to do that, because they fear working people more than they do fascism. Were this not so, there never would have been a “Dubya” administration to begin with.

The Democrats knew who this man Bush was long before November of 2000, and they knew the kind of inbred cretinism he represented long before September 11th. The last two off-year elections have been theirs to lose, and they’ve managed to lose them. They’ve thrown in the towel, and it’s long past time for us to begin the creation of an organization that can take this mess on. Call it vanguard or what have you, history is taking a dialectical leap and it’s time the proletariat started getting ourselves fitted for the drivers seat.

A True American

Dear Vincent,

After reading your article I had tears in my eyes, like you I was against the war from the very start. I knew the Bush administration was lying about WMD in Iraq, and I also think they should be held accountable for every single death (Iraqi or American) that has occurred because of them, and their lust for power and oil. And I just wanted to say that what you wrote touched my heart, and I think your the perfect example of a true American !

Sincerely,

Blaming the Parents

Great article which exposes people like Dershowitz who have no respect for human life if it is other than an Israeli. I remember well when a Palestinian boy was shot by the Israeli army in the arms of his father, Dershowitz appeared on TV and said that it was father’s mistake - he should have protected his son and that it was not the fault of the Israeli soldier who shot the boy.

This constitutes racism and bigotry. People like Dershowitz, who preach nothing but hatred against one group of people must be held responsible for spreading such hatred, lies and twisting the truth. Harvard must reconsider its policy to have such openly known bigots and racists among them.

This Arnold Fellow

It is my opinion that a non-native born American should never be allowed to hold the highest office in this country, and this Arnold fellow is a no-talent ignorant greenhorn that will probably be the worst governor California has ever had. There are not many Americans that will fall for his little act and they can see through his phoney act. Americans should now take a look at this man and see what he really is. This man isn’t a leader, nor is he an actor, this is one dude that has taken it just too far. Its the media and his stupid wife, Maria, that have seen that this idiot became such an attention-grabber. Americans will stand united against this man and the presidency will never happen for our friend Arnold. He also should be going to more speech therapy classes and his sexual behavior is very, very, questionable. This guy is a danger to society. We should look into this California election more closely to see if there is any fraud going on. It is very hard to believe that this election was for real. Lets get rid of Arnold, the sooner the better for all of America.
