A two trillion dollar war; that’s nice. 400 billion barrels of oil at 60 dollars per barrel is 24 trillion dollars.
The Bush Cabal will stay in this war as long as it pays. 20 million barrels per day comsumed by the US means that the war should last 20,000 days or about 54 years.

You go to war with the enemy that is there, not the one you thought was there.

The long history of aggressive war by the USA will continue until the USA is completely disarmed. Before oil it was about banana plantations. When there is no more oil, it will be wars for broccoli or water. The only way to make the world a less dangerous place is the total disarmament of the US.

Oil? I loved this bit by Chomsky in Newsweek (of all places):
Hastings: Where do you see Iraq heading right now?
Chomsky: Well, it’s extremely difficult to talk about this because of a very rigid doctrine that prevails in the United States and Britain which
prevents us from looking at the situation realistically. The doctrine, to oversimplify, is that we have to believe the United States would have so-called liberated Iraq even if its main products were lettuce and pickles and [the] main energy resource of the world were in central
Africa.Posted by Theo from Greece on 01/08 at 01:14 PM
