  1. George Clooney is an idiot and if you follow him, admire him, praise him, or want to be like him, then you really need to get a life.

Don’t let Hollywood tell you what to think, you will only get a distorted out of context picture from them.

    Think for yourselves you sheep!

  2. I’m afraid Al Kilya’s touched upon a synapse here. Yes, it’s like posing the question: “Is the dead Mickey Rooney Our Next Rambo?”.

  3. Umm… Richard, I am unsure if I actually understand Al Kilya’s comment. Does it mean that if one has anything nice to say about Clooney, one’s mind is being molded by Hollywood?

    I don’t get it.

I recently saw ‘Good Night, and Good Luck’. I thought it was brillant how that film incorporated old footage with the performance.

According to Mr. Kilya, I need a life and people like George Clooney are telling me what to think.

    Come again?

Anyway, Mickey wonders if Clooney is a tell-it-like-is kind of celebrity. Maybe he is. That was a pretty good soundbite.

  4. The soundbite --if accurately quoted, which I assume it was-- is atypical of Clooney. That’s the most important point to take in here. And...liking or adoring a given film produced (or participated in) by a given celebrity says zero about what their regular, ongoing track record is vis-a-vis politics, etc. There’s been enough undeserved applause directed Clooney’s way. I believe that’s part of the point here. I won’t even go into the “stretch” made respecting what Brando did in his hey-day. I mean, can anyone who knows much about Clooney’s record suggest that a Clooney-inspired S. Littlefeather would appear in his place to turn down an award? Please, please. This has zero to do with telling you what you should enjoy in the balcony.
