  1. Nice juxtapostion. In the city I currently reside, Halifax, there are statues of the war criminals Winston Churchill and Edward Cornwallis, a mass murderer of First Nation people.

  2. Well, as that crusty old genius, H. L. Mencken, once quipped:

    The men American people admire most extravagantly are the most daring liars; the men they detest most violently are those who try and tell them the truth.

    So, yeah, they’d rush forward, kiss his feet, that is if his feet were not now safely decomposed somewhere in Merry Old, and worship his homicidal wisdom.

    I believe another dead person was spot on, Wilhem Reich, who said:

    You hang the Hitlerites after they have murdered millions of people. What were you thinking before they had killed millions? Aren’t dozens of corpses enough to make you think? Does it take millions of corpses to stir your humanity?

    Uh, yeah, it does, although I’m not sure a million is a largest enough number. 100,000 dead Iraqis sure ain’t.
