  1. Neve is so courageous, as an academic in Israel, subject to innumerable state repression yet uncovering and speaking truth about the horrifying situation “on the ground” as they say in Hebrew.  He will be one of the leaders of the coming revolution there…

  2. Why should an independent democratic nation like Israel turn its sovereignty and safety over to the non-elected international court? Its parent body the UN has demonstrated time and time again its antisemitic hatred toward Israel.

  3. Regarding comment No. 2: see this website for articles by Israel Shahak (the best!), for much insight into Israel’s apartheid state:

  4. Rhino Rick, but that still doesn’t explain why a soverign nation should turn control of their country over to the UN. Perhaps you would like for Japan to be under UN control?

  5. The UN has a treaty on racism, I think it is from 1995. Although Japan formally acknowledged it they certainly do not abide by it: racism is institutionally in Japan (although I think life is easier here than in Is/Pal). I wish Japan would abide by international law and acknowledge their past war crimes. Japan is also a notorious environmental outlaw importing volumous illegal animals and animal parts in violation of CITES.

Anyway, if the world wants Israel to behave we had better cut off US “aid” which is an egregious waste of money that does not help average Israelis not to mention Palestinian and other victims.

  6. Let’s,look at this:
“the creation and strengthening of international institutions might help prevent terrorism by providing non-violent alternatives through which people can channel their grievances.”
    This is pure dreaming.
There are no such things as “non-violent alternatives” with terror groups who are after killing your people (kids as well)
Racism is human, global,we all suffer from it. It’s also a personal struggle for any of us to overcome.
Japan society is a closed one, so yes, racism is very present there.
Anti-Semitism is revitalised more than ever as well, thanks to the help of the UN.
The word “zionism” is so often heard lately, from the left and from the mouth of the terrorists in those videos (the beheadings).

  7. Of possible interest to people following this topic, and in reference to my above comment:

    http://electricinfatada.net/v2/article3120.shtml

44 percent of ZOGBY respondents “strongly agree” that “AIPAC should be asked [how about told!] to register as an agent of a foreign government and lose its tax exempt status.”

6 or 7 percent strongly disagree.

Japan is not a closed society but a major economic powerhouse with a growing foreign population. Some of its xenophobic attitudes are understandable which makes this a tricky topic. The bottom line with Japan is that it is occupied by the US military. I abhor the institutional racism in the university teaching world nonetheless (and some of us are fighting it).

Anti Semitism? There are now more Holocaust Musuems in the world, in combination with an endless flood of Hollywood films (of dubious historiical value) which proves that far from anti Semitism thriving (this is Alexander Cockburn’s point in his book: The Politics of AntiSemetism) there is an acknowledgment of the past atrocities.

Criticism of Israel’s policies and their parasitical syphoning of funds from the US (and US soldiers to fight their wars) is not being anti Semetic but simply angry about the injustice.

Again, read your Israel Shahak: Jewish History, Jewish Religion, a must read to the distortions of Hollywood History.

  9. Rhino Rick earlier you referred me to this website. http://www.geocities.com/alabasters_archive/index.html
On it was the “ Protocols of the Elders of Zion” I am quite familiar with it. Any website that would post it on its opening pages, is no more than a hate site. Your Albasteer’s Archives is worthless for any serious research. I know that Japan was allied with the Nazis in WWII, but the war is over and you lost. So why don’t you get on with your life and forget the anti-Semitic curd.

  10. Zogby is an Arab American. What else would you except from? http://electronicintifada.net/v2/article3120.shtml
I have had enough experience with Zogby to know that they censor view they disagree with and therefore have little or no credibility.

  11. Israel Shahak’s book was endorsed by such “hateful” writers as Noam Chomsky, Edward Said, Christopher Hitchens (not my favorite) and Gore Vidal. His scholarship has not been refuted to my knowledge, therefore it is necessary to avoid the substance of his message with red herrings.

Your smear of Zogby is pure racism, without offering any proof of the bias in his polls. Interestingly, most Jews polled were “unsure” as opposed to strongly disagreeing with the proposal to treat AIPAC as a foreign entity.

  12. Every Jew knows that AIPAC and sundry groups work for Israel.  They are blatant about it which may have got them caught.

And Israel Shahak, unlike “Shamir” is a legend, perhaps the first Israeli Jew to truly understand the history of Zionism from the persectiv of its victims.  It was he who helped create the movement of “new historians” like Kimmerling, etc.

Shahak was a representative of the near-extinct German-Jewish “cosmopolitan” epoch, written about by Amos Elon in “The Pity of It All,” the school I intellectually identify with, that was killed off or dissipated by Nazis, and covred up by Zionists....from th Young Hegelians to Marx to Walter Benjamin and the Institute for Social Research…
