The Anybody But Bush Offensive: Don't Back Down

Bingo. That’s what it is about Kerry that I have sensed with such contemptuousness when listening to his insipid oratory, and haven’t been able to put my finger on. Kerry is a self-absorbed egotist, first and foremost. And incidentally even more sickeningly militaristic than Bush.
I hope to have an article ready soon about Nader’s speech yesterday before the National Press Club, which I caught on C-Span. With Nader, I at least, hang on every word, and the idealism and hope begin to blossom in my breast. His political discourse is so urgent, so in touch with crucial issues, and so full of integrity. With Berry or Kush, it is all symbols and bombast, insipid and unendurable, contemptuous to borrow Nader’s phaseology the day he announced on Meet The Press.
One thing Nader pointed out in his speech yesterday is that 800,000 registered Democrats in Florida crossed over to vote for Bush in Florida in 2000. He questioned how arithmetically challenged they were to blame his 95,000 votes for costing Gore the election.
Excepting the fact that Nader would catch a bullet before he’d ever be allowed to win, his presidency would be utopia. Maybe it’s better he doesn’t.
