  1. As per Douglas, then, I ask whether or not we are rousing the conciences of the nation in these quarters.  Very good work, Reza, and I pray you won’t take offense at this entry.  However, as the scorecard for this subject is in...I ask reeaders, once again, to consider WHAT we are doing to follow the advice of Douglas these days.  Also, please note that the razing of nations to the ground by the present administration must be extended to more than TWO countries, yes? In the sense that MORE than two are already notched on their gun.  Loving best in solidarity, O’Xman.

  2. I thought I should add that my comment (#13) under Mickey Z’s Elie W article below is worth reviewing as a supplement to my comment above; I just posted it.  Thanks for your kind consideration, Richard Oxman

  4. Another powerful piece from Reza. Scary.
What are we doing Ox? Watching sit-coms and “voting” in November. That’s about cynically it. I fear for my children’s future.

  7. Great article as far as exposing US policies. But Reza (I think with purpose) forgets that Iranian Theocracy started the “Political War”. Saddam took first military initiative, but did not start the Conflict as such. Khomeini, a student of Iraqi Madrasas, had serious plans for Iraq and was thrown out to Paris in the Seventies.
Reza, as all hot-blooded leftists do, is sacrificing the “Third-World” people’s oppression, by keeping quiet about IRI’s role in the war, by their so-called local regimes at the expense of proving his loud Anti-Imperialistic credentials.
    Enough Infantile Leftism and Slogans,
    Death to the Islamic Republic

I need to know what Reza Fiyouzat really thinks about the Islamic Republic. If his Anti-Imperialism does not consider Democracy, he is no better than Saddam or Ghaddafi or Nasser, Oppressive Arab Nationalists that ended up failing their societies miserably.
    Let’s learn from History Pal.

  8. Dear Miran,
You are absolutely correct. In case, it has not been explicitly said, let it be said now. As a socialist, I believe that democracty in its true form and established with true deference to human dignity, is inseparable from social justice. Theocracy is only one and the most obvious enemy of all democracy, just as much as it stands for social oppression of all, except the inner clique that rules the nation much like mafia gangs would their turf.
And because of this the blood-soaked theocrats in Tehran would actually benefit greatly from any possible US invasion. Much like the previous Iraqi invasion, it will only solidify their position, at the expense of a the continuation of misery and blood and limb for millions of Iranians.
So, the truly democratic stance is the one demanding non-intervention of the US or any foreign forces, so that the people in Iran, who are capable of creativity, will have the time to muster their national and class will and rid the country and the region of at least ‘their own’ theocratic oppression for good.
Thank you again Miran for highlighting this.
    Reza

  9. Dear Reza,
thanks for the reply. As a socially committed journalist, I admire your courage in pointing out some clarifying remarks.
I realize that US aggression is the main regional issue, but we can not forget historical facts about the War and early post-revolution Iranian aggression.
Iranian Foreign Ministry is working hard to bring its case against Saddam, rudely using Int. law to gain further momentum against the Puppet Iraqi regime. Who will bring the case about the illegal violations of neighbour countriesin the early Khomeini regime to to the World court? These Mullahs have no regard for Rule of Law, no respect for their people, but have the blatant audacity to claim to be victims?
My point was about history and nature of IRI; otherwise, I am extremely worried about US plans about Iran and thank you for helping us understand US plans better.
