Brilliant! Sadly, LOGIC has nothing whatsoever to do with the Anyone But Bush (ABB) phenomenon, but a point well worth making nevertheless. Sort of the flip side of Micah’s column the other day about President Gore.

The author forgot the part about the stock market crashing in response to Gephardt’s election, because investors fear his left-wing reforms will hurt their profits, causing Gephardt to abandon his program to avoid a depression and pacify big business.

Well done! A united progressive front and a left of centre centre left. What a dream. It’s possible to alternate universes for 2008. Progressives need to regroup, cut out those snarky verbal contestations belittling one another that only serve to make us all seem that much smaller; actually strategize big and hit hard. Democrats will have to divorce themselves from their DLC neoliberal fantasies. Improbable: yes. Impossible: no.

Interesting. No wonder Kerry was a go and Geppie a no. The global monetocracy speaks and the candidates leap. Still, a nice try and the bit about Chomsky and Moore supporting third parties was relevant to activism.
As an aside, today I emailed with someone who knows the Dems are corrupt but sticks with the decrepit party corpse even now-- just as a mother baboon continues to cradle her dead young baby. He told me that he will stick with them until a third party offers an alternative: but this will not happen UNTIL those people sticking with the Dems get out there and make it happen!
