I hope Mark will send this beautiful tribute to Derrick Jensen...to Derrick. Amen. Richard Oxman P.S. Speechless at this beauty, Mark.

Thanks for introducing Derrick to me, Richard. The Culture of Make Believe blew me away. He’s in a very select group of writers. I’m sure people remember the feeling when they read one of their favorite or most eye-opening books for the first time. In terms of subject matter, I think reading Make Believe most resembles the awe I felt after first reading Bookchin’s Post-Scarcity Anarchism almost 20 years ago. I know the two authors are polar opposites on the issues of technology and “civilization,” but each one paints such an enticing picture of a better world. Both are artists with their ideas but of the two, Jensen is the master wordsmith. Make Believe indeed is a masterpiece of ideas and writing style.
