The “buzz” around google (which does put out a product that I enjoy using very much with their search engine) reminds me a lot of the hype around yahoo a few years ago, when it looked like yahoo was going to dominate web searching. There could very easily be a new company. Then again, I never thought amazon would make a profit.Of these reasons, #1, 3 and 4 seem like the best reasons to lay off the google-aide. #10 makes sense from a lot of perspectives, but if you are dealing in publicly owned companies, I doubt you will find many that don’t have some disagreeable labor practices.

  2. google watch is by Daniel Brandt.  he also runs another website Called cia-on-campus.org.  there are many excellent articles about CIA’s connection with the acadenmia. there are some old articles which may be hard to find nowadays.

    I think Brandt sometimes writes like a Conspiracy Theorist. He may really be one. but Nobody is perfect. I really admire most of his work. 
    Last time i looked , the CIA ON CAMPUS website was not that popular in the internet. 
    somebody needs to popularise it on the web.
