Japan’s Organized Labor Mobilizes Against War

Glad to see some important reporting on Japan appearing at Press Action. People don’t pay much attention to Japan because it’s just a little island out in the ocean far far away from the US. But the US imperial alliance with Japan has had and will continue to have major consequences for the world. One tidbit: a friend who follows the topic here in Japan reported that the Okinawa government has finally forced the US troops in Okinawa to follow an evening curfew. Maybe this will reduce the number of “incidents” that young, uneducated boys who are trained killers, get into (see also Chalmers Johnson’s The Sorrows of Empire).

For those interested, I just spent twenty minutes writing about the remilitarization of Japan, and the webpage was suddenly deleted either due to my own computer glitch or a glitch in the system. At any rate, a paper I wrote on US militarism and Japan is available at http://www.wisehat.com.

thank you again to Reza for his important work, these are scarier and scarier times as most people here remain ignorant to these trends…
