Hi to Tracy up there in the “goland” heights...where Socialism 2004 will be taking place...as per http://www.socialismconference.org.  Happy you decided to focus on Roy --Press Action’s #1, yes?-- who has much to offer everyone in terms of inspiration to direct action both on the individual level...and in solidarity.  She is, I might add, a far cry from the funny (and often worthwhile) Hightower...who (Tracy got a book review on in Z Magazine on him!)...does NOT encourage risk to the degree that Roy does, to say the least.  I mentioned to Tracy awhile ago that Jim’s people wanted to charge about $10,000 for OneDance...and that I thought he was raking in much too much w the Green Festivals as per our mutual values.  Something to ponder, perhaps.  Regardless, what say Justin, Tracy, Kim, Mickey Z, Mark Hand, Micah, Brandy (sorry for leaving so many out!) get together on having something put together w Roy as the centerpiece, the headliner with the keynote address...for FREE...for everyone?  Let’s be unrealistic!  Let’s get creative.  By the way, I think MICKEY did something on Roy recently here, yes?  Hugs, Rich

  2. I wrote the review back in February, much before I heard about the 10k fee, and Hightower’s Nobody But Kerry stance.  The latter, perhaps after all, the reason Z ran it.  If Hightower were the worst we had to worry about it would be a far better world.

    I’m not sure I’m going to be able to make it to the socialism thingy, because of transportation issues and housing.  I live about an hour and 20 minutes in good traffic from O’Hare, but have no car; and a two hour bus ride, although I’ve never taken it, and the bus that runs by my house only runs M-F.  ??  I’d love to go, and am still hoping I can.  ??  Incidentally, I’ve seen no corroboration of Richard’s recent pointing to John Pilger of being there.

    As to Roy?  Okay, I’ll bite.  Roy sounds great.  And completely unrealistic from this vantage point.  Now what?
