I agree party with Jordy’s concusion in the sense that Jewish community can play a positive role in ending Israel’s occupation. But there have always been a vocal minority in the Jewish community, if not a silent majority, who are opposed to Israeli policies. These voices get crowded out by ADL and various official organizations.
The support of mainstream Western societies are needed to end the occupation. Israel isn’t quite a classic client regime. It infulences US politics in a way that client regimes such as South Vietnam, and Mobutu’s Zaire did not. Howevever, the influence of the Zionist lobby (whether Christian or Jewish, or otherwise) depends on the mainstream society and politicians working hand-in-hand with Israel’s agenda. It is accurate to point out that the ruling elites of the Arab and Muslim countries also collaborate with the US agenda for the Middle East, including Palestine.
