This gives a new meaning to the Anybody But Bush mantra. It’s truly the end of...something… whether or not these people have any influence. With great hope in spite of the above, Ox

Good luck Mickey, and be sure to let us know if they take you on board.

I’ll put in a good word for you, Justin.
Seriously, here’s something I just wrote to Mark (and Sunil at Dissident Voice): As someone who is constantly on the look-out to find ways to make $$$, I read writing ads all the time. It often seems that every trust fund hipster in America is starting a snarky magazine and/or website. This particular ad pushed me over the edge...so to speak. I decided: why not take them on? Why let them slouch through their privileged lives? Whenever I have the time to do so, I plan to engage in more interventions like this. Maybe I should include a plea for readers to bombard these “editors” with e-mails?

I see ads all the time - Web sites who think they can make money, even.
The following was on DC’s Craigslist not long ago. Warning - when you go to the site, you will be bombarded with ads galore - good luck finding the original content. They are trying to be a liberal Drudge Report, no porn here despite the url name, so in that regard not like the site Mickey points to, but they just seem to have a annoying pretentious something that irks me.
I didn’t stick around to read any of it - too put off by the commercials. Let me know if it is worth a second visit… maybe it would be ok when i have my Ad Muncher on.
“The Raw Story (http://www.rawstory.com), a freshly-minted news site seeking to be the liberal alternative to the Drudge Report, is seeking news, arts and business correspondents from the D.C. area, as well as those who can report from overseas. We also welcome editorials and opinion pieces from all sides of the political spectrum. Political correspodents are also always very much in need.
Applicants need not have a lot of experience in reporting; college students are especially encouraged to apply. Those of the liberal or progressive persusasion are especially welcome, including those who fall to the left or right of the traditional liberal arc.
Check us out on the web and email us if any of these positions pique your interest. We look forward to hearing from you!Send us any samples of your work to the above address, but PLEASE DON’T send attachments.”
