Thanks, Micah. Yes, we have to take back the air waves...by force. Getting “tougher questions” in (within the limits that would be imposed w/i that larger “token” circle) will NOT do. I hope everyone is spending a decent portion of each day figuring out how to start this approach...which goes beyond “press the press” action. For all his faults, this is one area where Nader shines.

I’d like to suggest that we end the “take back” rhetoric. When we say we’ll take back the airwaves or even take back our country, the implication is that there was a time when “the people” controlled the media or enjoyed a true democracy. To paraphrase Gandhi (the man of the hour lately), if I were asked what I thought of American democracy, I’d reply: “Sounds like it might be a good idea.”

Mickey’s right about the language. The point’s well taken. I lie on my side corrected, Ox-on-flank

The American mainstream media is the Voice of the Party Line from behind the American Iron Curtain. It’s so sad that Americans do not know what is really happening. Even sadder, they don’t even know they don’t know. If you travel or visit abroad this is very obvious. Oddly, the US has become the USSR.
