  1. I am glad to see that Mark Hand placed the Matthiessen book image next to Kap’s wonderful piece. Both the general points about “civilization” AND the specifics like those concerning Leonard Peltier...and so many others...need to be IMPOSED on the public school system...for starters.  None of our efforts will come to much unless that confrontation takes place.  Whether we have children or not, we must PUSH to change the propaganda that makes up the very air the kids breathe in those quarters.  If we can’t keep the schools from forcing kids to “honor” the flag, we can --at the very least-- burn those books...or replace them.  Hugs, Ox

  2. This notion of burning books seems a bit strange. Considering: I would have no material with which to write about if we burned all the propaganda. Remember: Words are simply symbols edited down through the human experience. Lest not burn other symbols, simply make our own and hope they catch on.

    For Shakespeare would have never burned the work of Hitler. He would have furthered it…
