  1. I appreciate the posting of Akram’s missive.  However, in that the facts have been on the Progressive Table for quite some time, I recommend that readers jump to Jeffrey St. Clair’s piece on “Locusts” (posted on http://www.counterpunch.org for this weekend), so that we can all be motivated to do something about these abominations...beyond what we’re already doing.  Yes, something else can and must be done soon.  Love in our hearts as we undermine U.S. terrorism, The Ox

  2. Thank you, Richard, for your comments and other information.  I’d be curious to see whether the editors of The Washington Post deem it appropriate to publish my letter, or any other pointing out who are Novak’s “Freedom Fighters.”

  3. I would bet a large majority of official Washington—Republicans and Democrats—share Novak’s view of the “rebels” in Haiti who “overthrew” Aristide as “freedom fighters.” If elected, will John Kerry do the right thing and work with the Carribean community of nations to restore Aristide to power? Don’t count on it. Thanks for highlighting Novak’s reference, Tanweer. Novak sounds nostalgic for the ‘80s when he was busy promoting U.S.-sponsored mercenaries in Nicaragua, Angola, Afghanistan, etc.
