Can’t argue with common sense...which isn’t very...and, even though I’m one of the world’s fattest, richest people (note: the WORLD’s, not the US’s!) I can’t help but respond from my (bloated) gut to the call for self-examination. Join me, anyone?

My question is...what is Richard (who posted the comment about being bloated) going to do about what Mickey is addressing, using the “self-examination” as a point of departure? Best, Richard Oxman

Hard to believe a writer like that works at a gym. Oh wait. I forgot. No it’s not.

This article states in very precise terms what the biggest problem facing our planet is - global inequity in the distribution of resources. We cannot afford to take the line “I’d rather not know what’s going on”. I’ll bet the citizens of occupied Palestine would “rather not know” too, but it’s in their faces every day of their lives. The same holds true for countless countries around the globe. Until those of us in the priviledged parts of the world - and make no mistake, our standard of living is a priviledge, and not a God-given right - wake up and decide to “know” and to take action, our collective future isn’t looking very bright. Thanks Mickey, you speak a very important truth!
