  1. To Constituent:  Wake up, it’s the Geneva Convention that needs changing! Not what Col. West did.

  2. Col West’s actions most likely helped saved American Soldiers’ lives. Anti-American Americans seem to take a blind eye to enemy atrocities but love to attack a professional soldier who does what is necessary. It is unfortunate that we must take these measures, but the media and the oratatory of the left gives the impression of America as spineless to our enemies in the international community. Perhaps now our image has changed and we will be taken seriously.

  3. The media and the oratory of the left?  Oh-oh, here come the reactionaries.  Anti-Anti-American Americans are lucky they have we radical, socialists, anarchists, in a word intellectuals, to enlighten them and spur their envy, moving them to manage 60-word essays in re.

  4. Coerced information is often unreliable; further Amerikkkan soldiers should stop complaining when they are treated like shit by their captors.

But then again Amerikkkans are famous for their hypocrisy and double standards.

  5. To the Constituent,

Don’t you have anything better to do with your life? If it saves one soldier’s life, I would rather see a thousand Iraqis interrogated, and as you call it “mistreated”.

As a former soldier, my opinion is obviously biased in this matter, but I will always err on the side of patriotism and the protection of our soldiers.

Remember, these captives have not earned the rights and privileges of those deemed prisoners of war. To be a prisoner of war you must first be a soldier. The individual being interrogated in this case was not a soldier or a prisoner of war. He was a captured enemy combatant. That changes things for him. We have won the war, we are the occupying force. There is no standing army in Iraq, therefore, no prisoners of war. So get off the “Geneva Convention” kick. We are the only nation in the world that makes an attempt at adhering to those standards, and frankly, I believe that it is not worth the paper it is written on. It is not used to protect soldiers. Like the American criminal justice system, it is used as a weapon by armchair warriors to second guess the actions of those who do not have the privilege of rewinding the tape to review mistakes. The result of second guessing when making decisions such as those made by Colonel West is the death of soldiers. How would you like to write a letter to the mother or wife of a young soldier who was vaporized by a roadside bomb when you had intelligence that could have saved his life?

Stay out of issues that do not concern you, and leave Senator Warner alone. If you don’t like it, vote for someone else.
