  1. Yeah....in the local newspaper there is still an ongoing discussion about the navy blue angels air show that occurred over 2 weeks ago.

Many people complained about the earth shattering noise and vibrations, money and fuel wasted, stupid people looking up in awe, using the air show to encourage enlistment and on.

Another side was a gentlemen stating the loud noise was the sound of freedom...and I thought it was simply roaring jets.

Some local ‘activists’ are concerned about a rumor that joe biden will step out of the race and hillary will replace him...that’s where our activists are coming from. What the hell is the concern?

Yes the soldiers are murderers because that’s what americans do well. I’m sure the nice soldiers even give a high-five after slaughtering an entire family, just like they learned from the end-zone warriors.

  2. Ah, this is a good one! Like Chomsky has said, most foreign policy is so easy to understand a five year old could do it (domestic policy also.)

It makes me think of that scene in The Matrix (I’m a geek) where Neo finally sees the matrix for what it really is. If you recall he is underwhelmed. “Is this it?”

Simplicity. Calling things by their proper names makes understanding our world so much easier. What do soldiers, cops and CEO’s do? Kill. Albeit, in different ways. They are murderers. That is what they should be called then.

    This applies to everything.
I need coffee. Good morning Mickey!

  3. Terrible news from the UK everyone.

First up: this is relevant to the post topic - but we should not hijack Mickey’s comments with it. if anyone wants to comment, please follow the link then comment there (you needn’t log in to comment there).

Basically, Newcastle College in the UK let army recruiters onto campus for freshers week. A group of six students approached their stall and one kid (small, passive guy) just asked them, in front of the new students too, “How many of our students would be killed” (meaning in their program).

He peacefully repeated the question seeking an answer. He was asked to leave by security, at which point he complied and peacefully dropped the whole thing.

Next day - suspended from college pending a hearing to expel him completely!

Follow the link to read about it and see what you can do to help.

  4. Hello Expendables.

Hijacking threads is fine here, Andy. In fact, I’m about to do it myself:

Troy Davis is scheduled for execution tomorrow. Learn more about him here:

(Then, perhaps you’ll send a letter to the Georgia Board of Pardon and Paroles. See above link for info)

  5. Hi andy, Maxwell, joe, Mickey and all....

Great front page again today. The letter from the airman is a perfect example of the brain washing of the masses by the school systems, and then more mind bending by the military. It is like a ‘perfect storm’ of delusion. The culture with its glorification of the military - blue angels, etc, just brings more delusion. I live in the shadow of one of the largest ‘battle monuments’ in the US. It is like a spear piercing the sky. What delusion - it is a monument to the Battle of Bennington - which did not take place in Bennington. Did not even happen in the State. The Battle of Bennington took place in New York State.

Hard to imagine that they are STILL planning on executing Troy Davis. The ‘troops’ should be here to protect us from the government instead of killing people in Iraq and Pakistan. Freedom - what freedom when so many who are innocent are behind bars and/or facing execution.

Mickey...Have fun tonight as you raise the consciousness of the people.

  8. Damn it. I was going to be a famous novelist until I spent the past five hours popping virtual bubbles.

  9. Radio gig went well. I gotta admit, it was fun to talk about myself as a novelist.

  10. Another great if also depressing entry, Mickey! Joe of Maine #1:  those air shows also take place in Australia where, especially in the last 10 years, society has been militarised to a degree which this ‘new’ Australian citizen would not have thought possible when she came to live here in 1985.

And hello, Maxwell Black, Andy, Rosemarie and James.

Interesting and moving speech by the late David Foster Wallace:

Good to hear that your radio gig went well, Mickey - could not tune in, but will keep trying.  In Australia, radio programs are normally ‘available’ online for at least 2 weeks after the initial broadcast.

Take care, all of you expendables!

  12. Hi Helga and all…

My ISP has been down all afternoon. I hate it when that happens in the middle of a job. Now I’m behind with everything again.

What is happening right now with Troy Davis???

  13. Just read this good news at CNN: The U.S. Supreme Court granted a last-minute reprieve to a Georgia man convicted fewer than two hours before he was to be executed for the 1989 slaying of an off-duty police officer.
