  1. Bravo, Mike...It is great to be sharing the front page here at PressAction today with a fellow VFP member. I will alert all other Chapter 88 members to stop by and read your article. You say you don’t want “thanks” but I will say “thanks” anyway. I am especially appreciative because you mentioned the killed Iraqis who are usually forgotten. Hang in there. We are all behind you.

  2. I agree it’s a terrible war, and it’s getting worse by the month.  However, I feel that withdrawing now would result in far MORE Iraqi deaths than staying.  That is, we shouldn’t have invaded at all, but now that we’re there we have an obligation to try to fix our messes.  Maybe a change in strategy and objectives would be better than a withdrawal.

Last week a spokesman for Muqtada al-Sadr said that the U.S. should NOT leave right now.  The U.S. must leave, but not right now.  That’s a radical change for them.

The $67,000,000,000 additional spending should quell notions that we’re in this for the oil.  We could pump oil from Iraq for 30 years and not break even.  We’re not in it for the oil.  We’re in it because our government is run by idiots.

  3. Simon...I think that the USA should withdraw immediately. Then the US should bring ALL troops on foreign soil home and turn over the 700+ military bases in other countries to the people of who live there. Then the US taxpayers should pay reparations for the destruction that it has caused all around the world. Please read “A Small Matter of Justice”. It is on this site under my name.

You say “the government is run by idiots”.  I am not so sure about that. The government is run by a group that wanted to transfer wealth to the global ruling class. They succeeded in their plan. Maybe they outsmarted all of the rest of us. They are not without intellectual ability. They are without conscience.
