  1. Great article… I just wish there was some action now… how can it be that after all we know.. we go out RE-ELECT the two biggest murderers of the past decade???

  2. How did PressAction turn from a progressive socially responsible site into a neo-Nazi Holocaust denying source of commentary? There’s so much evidence out there to support that Holocaust is not mythological, that it did happen : as many as 6 million Jews and 5 million others died, but Frank Scott anecdotally claims that much of the world supports Iranian views.  Where’s the evidence for this gibberish ? The vast majority of historians would frown on your attempt to muddy up what really happened in the Nazi era.

We have democratic institutions for many reasons, one being the protection of the minorities against the majorities.  So even if, as you claim, much of the world supports “wiping off Israel”, as you falsely suggested, this throws no legitimate points in your favor, rather shows your opportunistic agenda. ‘Nuff said.

  3. I think you are missing the point(Steve), nobody is denying the holocaust.. as the writer makes his point here :

“We are supposed to have a right to free expressions and thoughts, however unpopular some may find them. But when a critical suggestion is made to look further at the terrible experience of European Jews in World War 2, which has come to be known as the holocaust, heresy is charged and free speech becomes criminal thought.”

see.. all he said was “if a critical suggestion is made… free speech becomes criminal thought”.

The question may be.. why does it become criminal?

  4. Well, for one, the sanctions against Iran wouldn’t be for the Holocaust comments he made, but for the uranium enrichment, which is used to create nuclear weapons of mass destruction.  Given his attitude towards Israel, it’s fair to say that he’s a biggest menace --he, a leader of the most powerful Islamic country, also believes that Israel should be wiped off the map.  His Holocaust comments further add flame to the fire.

As far as I’m concerned, comments such as these don’t make Iranian ruler more benign than the west, as the author claims. Just the opposite !

I’d also like to know who exactly are these Judeo-Christian capitalists, and why the name.

  5. You see.. the uranium sanctions are another hypocracy… how can the only nation (who has the biggest arsenal of WMD’s.. and the only nation to actually use them) lead the charge in denying iran the right to nuclear technology?

The lame excuse of.."oh.. iran has so much oil..why do they need nuclear tech”... oh come on… we are RUNNING out of oil and we are telling iran to carry on using OIL???... come on man.. they aint as gullable as the average US citizen…

Why don’t we put sanctions on israel for its illegal nuclear stash?

  6. Why do people keep pretending that they dont understand the difference between “no gaschambers” and “no concentration camps”.Only the feebleminded still believe the gas chamber stories but anyone who says so publicly is accused or should I say labeled “Holocaust denier” as if they deny that anything happened at all. This is an obvious crude attempt to deceive why cant they just stick to the truth and stop insulting our intelligence.
As to this Steve and his “socially responsable” sites who gave that idiot the right to decide what is socially responsable, presumably it is socially responsable to believe without question that six million jews died in the work camps when that figure has been disproven over and over again.A few years ago following a courtcase the memorial at Auswitz was forced to amend from 4.5 million died here to 1.5Million died here but still the Steves of this world proclaim the “truth” of the six million.Maybe he is a fool or maybe he just thinks we are fools.

  7. M,
it’s like you have this mental block --you’re completely dismissing Iran government’s (mind you, most Iranian people aren’t that stupid) position that Israel should be wiped off the map.  Does the word genocide ring a bell? Did Israel ever declare that any nation should be wiped off the map? Never! And don’t give me the Palestinian plight argument, it’s too complicated of an issue and there’s certainly no genocide.

Iran is a signatory to the nuclear non-proliferation treaty, yet you support their right to nuclear enrichment, which may potentially have devastating effects in the Middle East. The oil argument is a straw man, and it’s not about that.

  8. steve.. whenever israel in mentioned, it’s people like you who have a mental block. Here we are talking about acting against Iran because it has broken a agreement about nuclear technology…

Do you know how many UN resolutions israel has broken and nothing has happened ? and how many times has US vetoed in israel favour?

Just in case you don’t remember.. here is a list:http://www.action-for-un-renewal.org.uk/pages/isreal_un_resolutions.htm

    and your line :

“Did Israel ever declare that any nation should be wiped off the map? Never!”

So what? You are dismissing the palestine issue too easily.. it is a BIG problem in the region. Is this statement supposed to make israel look like the innocent party? I’m not against the creation of israel, the country has been created but the government(of israel) should at least do something about peace in the region(ie. stop building more settlements). Do you know how many UN resolutions israel has broken and nothing has happened ? and how many times has US vetoed in israel favour?

  9. One more thing steve.. this Iran hate campaign isn’t all about the nukes.. or israel.. it’s also linked to the up and coming Iranian Oil Bourse (oil exchange program).  Iran is like a pain in the butt for the US, they have to act one way or the other.  Obviously lieing and deceiving is the only way forward in Iran’s case.

    v good article explaing that:

  10. Hey Steve your skullcap is slipping!

  11. M,

If a neighbor is presenting you with a death threat to your whole house and to all your family that lives there, will you do something about it?

The threat is real.  The whole world is against this one --even Russia and China are frowning on this.

Israel should not suffer because the US oil elite has plans in the region. Comprendes ?

Posted by Steve from usa  on  01/25  at  01:37 PM
  12. Steve.. The iranian president made a empty threat, in the past 3-4 weeks or so. Israel has had nukes for over 20 years.I dont think Iran is trying to get nukes to attack israel. They just want the knowledge, which is everyones right.  For example.. nobody stopped India or Pakistan? But by these two countries aquiring nuke technology, has prevented any further war situations between them.  All Iran is trying achieve is a nuclear balance in the general area.

Posted by m from london  on  01/25  at  01:46 PM
  13. Israel may or may not have nukes, but it’s an accepted view that they have those. But why ?
Because the threat Iran made wasn’t just in the last 3-4 weeks as you claim, but it’s been Iranian policy for decades? to destroy Israel. Did Israel ever perform any horrendous acts to Iran to warrant this policy?

Iran simply hasn’t matured to be trusted.  They hang gay people because of their sexuality, women don’t have half the rights men have; Iran is a far cry from democracy.  I doubt that the majority of people worldwide believe Iran is simply developing nuclear technology, like you think.

We have fierce critics of Iraq war who are even more fierce to criticise the Bush administration when it comes to Iran.  The criticism stems from the fact that Bush is not doing enough to stop the illegal proliferation program.  One example is Hillary Clinton. I do hope she becomes our next prez grin

  14. Do you really think in this day and age anyone would use nuclear weapons?  If iran used nukes in that area they would kill just as many muslims as jews. The only disadvantage of iran gettin nukes is.. america not being able to use its military to threaten them. Simple. And if they are using it as a detterent(just like israel)good for them.

and also if a nation wants to progress scientifically they have to master the full nuclear cycle. Who are we to tell them not to do it?
