A healthy body and a healthy mind should be goals for an activist, and everyone else. Thank you, MZ and pressaction.com, for this instructive and valuable piece.

Nice bs liberal fluff piece. I know very few truely active-ists that have time to go “SPINNING”.
Buy a fucking bike and ride it.

It’s truly astonishing how few readers on the “Left” can grasp satire.

OK, I got my bike out of the basement.
If capitalism is so terrible, what would you replace it with? I don’t see any viable alternative. Capitalism will be around long after we’re gone.
This is not to say there aren’t different flavors of capitalism, some much better than others. And there’s nothing wrong with setting limits on capitalism: environmental regulations and labor laws, for example. But there is no good substitute for capitalism.
As Douglass North has stated, the best economic systems are those in which the individual has a strong incentive to take actions that are good for society. We want people to make useful products, provide useful services, do research, develop new medicines, invent things, etc. Capitalism is very good at rewarding people for doing these things.
If you dropped capitalism, what would you replace it with?
