  1. Great post!  Hypocracy is a plague.  The people you quote are the same that Churchill warns of when he says

..I am just the kickoff for a general purge they have in mind.. Academia is to be a cheering section for red, white and blue, as they define it, and it has no other function.

As if to prove Churchill’s point, Colorado Governor Bill Owens writes

Ideas have consequences, and words have meaning. If there is one lesson that we hope that all
Coloradans take from this sad case—and especially our students—it is that civility and
appropriate conduct are important. Mr. Churchill’s views are not simply anti-American. They
are at odds with simple decency, and antagonistic to the beliefs and conduct of civilized people
around the world. His views are far outside the mainstream of civil discourse and useful
    academic work.

Your post aptly illustrates how they define “civil discourse.” If this id how it’s going to be, I’m content residing “far outside the mainstream”.

    Regards.

When Ronald Reagan was elected in 1980 promising massive tax cuts, do you think that wealthy professional athletes voted for Mr. Reagan?  If you were making a million FRNs each year and you could have an additional 100 thousand more, how would you cast your vote?

Hypocrites, indeed!  Ann Coulter and Pat Robertson, et. al. are not the only hypocrites in the patch.

  3. MDPB, what are FRNs?  I for one can say were I wealthy monetarily, I would not necessarily vote for policies that secured and increased my wealth.  Indeed, I have long been an adherent to Nietzsche apothogem that “It is now as it’s always been; the more you possess the more you are possessed.  Therefore praised be a moderate poverty.”

  4. federal reserve notes

At one time, denominated US currency had the words ‘silver certificate’ or ‘gold certificate’ on the face of each note.  Now, the words are ‘federal reserve note’.  On November 25, 1963 the first 50 million federal reserve notes were issued by the Federal Reserve.

To show how much I’ve been duped, I used to vote for some of those hypocritcal Republicans.  How much more embarrassing can that be?

Never again will I vote Republican.  Better dead than to vote for another Republican.  The drug addict Rush Limbaugh is a shining example of how much one person can be hoodwinked into thinking that being a ‘conservative’ is of more value than being anything else.  Hypocrisy at ludicrous speed is what they have.

The only good Republican is one that is very much alive and is sitting in the US House of Representatives or US Senate.  They’re squirming in their seats with much anxiety these days.

Ward Churchill might be in the hot seat these days, but he’s in a better spot than the unduly, fraudulently elected so-called ‘Republicans’ and all others of their infamous ilk.

  5. I had the pleasure of hearing Ward Churchill speak last night.  He is not a hateful man.  In fact, he loves babies - EVERYBODY’s babies.  He talked about how our government kills babies and that it needs to stop killing people’s babies.  He said he had been called “angry”, and didn’t apologize for being angry about all the baby-killing going on in our imperialistic wars.  Rather he turned the tables and asked why Governor Owens and our university regents are NOT angry!  He also introduced the radical notion that the American government be made to follow the law.  I left feeling impressed with Churchill and inspired by all the vocal, heartfelt support he got from the packed audience (so packed in fact, that hundreds remained outside and could only hear him on loudspeakers out in the cold).

  6. Power to Ward Churchill, free speach, open dialogue and a reality check for those in deeeep denial.

On the topic of: never voting Republican again; I submit that you should never vote Democratic either.  They are both the same party giving off the illusion of being two different parties. Are they really that different? They both take PAC money from the same MNCs; their policies are fundamentally the same.  They create the illusion so that no matter which party you vote for; they always win.  This gvernment is run by corporations - plain and simple.

Enough of this bi-partisan crap, it’s time for a real multi-party system.
