Nice going Rosemarie. All Americans ought constantly be reminded of the egregious crimes of US foreign policy. One ought to remember the context in which Panama occurred. Just after the demise of the Soviet Union when there was crazy talk going around of a peace dividend and the fear in the arms manufacturers and the defense industries of slasshed budgets, which George H W Bush wasn’t going to allow. Desperate for an enemy, another former CIA asset, Noriega, became the demon du jour; as prelude to the Pentagon dumping on another erstwhile ally, Saddam Hussein. By the following year there was no silly talk of a peace dividend or reductions in the bloated Pentagon budgets.

Too little is known about the Panama war, and what Noriega still knows. One has to assume he quite literally has knowledge that could bring the entire world crashing down, considering his federal treatment as compared with Gitmo. .

Yes, that might be one of the biggest news stories that has never been told...WHAT DOES NORIEGA KNOW. Even if the Press cannot get to him, that in itself is a news story that needs to be exposed. Also wouldn’t you just love to have an in depth interview with April Glaspie?
