  1. Mr. Welsh, your article of NOv 07, ‘o4 appears to be full of distortions at best and outright anti-American propaganda at its worst. Why don’t you write about the real attorcities in Iraq, namely the beheading of civilian workers? Why don’t you talk about the killing of Iraqis by the terrorists who do NOT want to see a free Iraq holding elctions? Where on earth did you get the privelege to write articles for this paper if not given by the freedom you enjoy because of the sacrifices of the American people. Here is an ananlogy: if you had cancer would you want to get rid of it before it overtook you body or would you wait hoping that it would disappear by itself? Well, Saddam Hussein was that cancer, he was removed, now we have to contend with not only the fanatics over there but biased “ reported “ like you who give aid and comfort to the terrorists by you condemnation of America and OUR president. You are less than worthy of living in our society, why don’t you go to Iran and live?

  2. How old are you, Marlowe, if you don’t mind my asking?

  3. Marlowe, was it wrong for the United States to kill over a million Iraqis due to sanctions?
Did you know that when the US attacked Iraq in Gulf War I that they intentionally targeted the water and sewer system, thus unleashing a biological catastrophe that helped to kill tens of thousands of children (who are especially susceptible to disease)? This is called biological warfare, something the US denounces and yet practices themselves. What say you to these charges?

  4. The children.  Yes, the children.  The expendable colateral by-products of war, be it by pen or by sword.  Authoritative estimates place the number at close to a million… who died as a result of the sanctions (citations provided upon request).  As for RR’s above observations: http://www.progressive.org/0801issue/nagy0901.html

  5. Who was it that suffered because of Hussein’s policies? The Iraqi people did. And who has suffered 100,000 dead because someone beyond the borders of Iraq decided regime change was in order for the Iraqis? The Iraqi people did. And what did the Iraqi people do to deserve all this treatment?  The powerful US of A is fighting against a nation that does not even have an air force. And this invasion of a country that had not attacked the USA nor even threatened them. What have the people of Iraq got to defend themselves from this One Billion Dollar a Day Military Enterprise? So the people stand up to defend themselves against an invading force and guess what one Iraqi said about it in a CBC documentary tonight? “The Americans call us terrorists for defending ourselves? Well ok, I am a terrorist, my brother is a terrorist, my uncle is a terrorist and so are the rest of us in this city. If the Americans came here to fight terrorists then that is what we will give them.” Imagine some country invading Washington because they don’t like Snubya. Just watch their tanks roll along Pennsylvania Avenue blasting away at buildings and picking off people. Do you think the International Community would look on without revultion? But of course there will always be those enlightened souls who would believe that such behaviour was necessary. War is hate. Hate begets hate. The hatred directed towards the Americans in Iraq was well earned: they worked very hard wrecking Iraqi’s lives to deserve it. The ugly face of the fallacies from this evil US Administration is coming home to roost. God help them. They’re going to need it.

  6. “Today we are all Fallujans...” seen on an Australian site today. The rest of the world sees what those in the US cannot.  Have you noticed that there has been no discussion in the media about the intentional bombing of the hospital? Being a citizen in an Empire means never having to say “You’re sorry”. Today, are you a Fallujan?  Today, what do think about the Troops? Today, how many things did you do which supported the US War economy? Today, what did you do to resist the Empire and support its victims all arounfd the world.

  7. We didn’t bomb the hospital, Mr. Welch. We secured the hospital to ensure the insurgents didn’t report fake civilian injuries. The U.S. is giving a gift of freedom to Iraq. Too bad so many Iraqis stand by while their liberators and humanitarian workers are attacked. Why don’t you do some real investigative journalism? Any idiot can make unsubstantiated claims: you are undermining America. America fought for and won her own freedom, and people of all races and creeds learned to live here together in peace. (We’ll see about the Muslims: look at what they are doing to France). Why don’t you put your pen to good work and teach Muslims the lessons we all learned in kindergarten. Free speech does not mean you can just spread lies.

  8. Well, I see that I have several e-mail “friends” who really think America is the Evil Empire. I think back to WWII and Korea, how we helped liberate Europe and South Korea for the tortures of the Nazis’ and the Communists. I remember Viet Nam and how the military was not allowed to win that war partly due to the likes of Jane Fonda and John Kerry and the anti-war marches fomented with money from Communist counties and by our academia that is fomenting hate America in our educational system. I think of the many P.O.W.’S that were tortured because of the support given by demonstrators. Some the the letters responding to my first letter show the same disdain for America so let me ask this: where does the world turn to when famine or disaster strkes? Where do people want to live and leave their own home land to move to? Where else can one find the same degree of freedom as in America? Yes, even in Canada people will come to the U.S.A. for medical conditions because they have long waiting lines for some of the procedures up there. In many “free” countries one cannot criticize various lifestyles one may not agree with. Are there problems in America?, YES there are. I would like to see the Liberals stop hateful speech with those they disagree with. I would like to see the Liberals try and tell the truth and get it right for a change. I ahve lived long enough to see what has happened to America since the A.C.L.U. has banned Christianity from most areas of public life and how we have become more decadent like other countries where no moral absolutes exits. I do not hear of any place where Americans would rather live, do you?

Well, each of you have a nice day and look at the good America has done. By the way it is not America that is full of hate and killing innocent people in Iraq. Not one of you has mentioned the beheading of civilians in Iraq or the mass murders of Hussein or the killings of Iraq’s who want their freedom. Well, enough for now because i know you can only see what you want to see and it is not the truth.
