  1. I wish all involved in this glorious event well much good fortune.  It’s sure to be very special. There are many reasons to join hands with this group. I’m very partial, naturally, but I can say from experience...if for no other reason than to experience “Mr. Inimitable” (Mickey Z)...being a part of it all is a “must-do,” for sure.  In addition, I hope that some people going to OUTSIDE THE BALLOT BOX...will think of The Ox...and The Plan (touched upon of late so often in these quarters)...and put the proposal for direct action that I’ve been pushing onto the table for, at least, minimal discussion.  It certainly seems totally appropriate for the theme of this event.  If anyone wants to go armed with a little more ammunition than they have at present...in order to do so...please contact me ASAP at .  Merci, Richard P.S. Please hug Mark, Nancy, Michele and The Mickster for me.

  2. We’ll be thinking of you, Richard, at tomorrow’s event. Thanks for the inspiration you’ve provided readers of Press Action during the past year and thanks for reminding us of Oct. 16 being the 145th anniversary of John Brown’s raid on Harper’s Ferry.

  3. I wish Pressaction’s event great success.  Of the three authors, I am familiar with the writings of two, Mickey Z., and Elaine Cassel.  Both of them are excellent writers.

As an essayist Mickey Z., has a unique and elegant style.  His literary elegance is combined with a deep knowledge of history of the United States and its people and an appreciation of the struggles of ordinary people.

Ms. Eliane Cassel is an attorney who has written extensively about the increasing and dangerous abuse of power following the 9-11.  At a time, when the state and the dominant political culture want people to shut and blindly obey the dictates of power, we need writers and attorney like Cassel.

I hope that the public will take the opportunity to attend what promises to be a lively and intellectually rewarding author forum.  The editor of Pressaction, Mark Hand, deserves to be commended for his efforts.

  5. Mark,

Greetings.  When is CSPAN airing your event?  Thanks.

  6. Seth-- The event is likely to be aired sometime next weekend (Oct. 23-24). C-SPAN won’t know until later in the week the exact time it will be aired. They’ll probably post on their website the programming schedule for next weekend’s C-SPAN Book TV by mid- or late-week. I’ll post a notice on Press Action and email an alert when we find out the exact time.

The event went really well. Mickey Z. was fantastic as were Elaine Cassel and Mark Andersen in their critiques of our government’s policies and with spurring people to do what they can to make the world and their communities a better place and to think for themselves instead of buying into the “spin” of the major media. I may be biased, but I think “Outside the Ballot Box” will be must-see TV when it gets aired on C-SPAN.
