You make me sick.
That’s right sick to my stomach when I think of my own inaction in the face of this blantant emotional, spiritual, psychic and material distruction this administration is persuing through their policies. I am a Canadian living in Philadlephia, the birthplace of the constitution so thoughtfully drafted and considered. I say .. I can’t vote here and yet I can vote with my feet and get out and speak with people. I can vote with my effort to, in my opinion, help the confirmed Bush supporters to see the effects of the policies. I have nothing against George W. Bush personally. He is another human being. I am incensed by his actions and his policies.
I am, thanks to your note, just as incensed at my own actions.. or inaction which is more accurate. I am informed yet not acting. Who else is living in this type of a dream?
There is a metaphor regarding beating someone else. You may have heard it ... “read it and weep!” Well I did and I am. Enough time for tears and now I am ready to act.
Thank you for the straw that woke the camel up!

Very well put. It is the people, not the politics of the people that will prevail. The United States of America is the people of the United States, not the government proclaiming to represent it. Its power is the people. The people must lay claim to their power and change the course of the spiral dive the government is taking the country in. I am hopeful, but what choices have the people to make? Bush or Kerry, is there a difference? This is a tough situation to be in.
Your excellent essay should be a must read for all Americans. Good luck!Posted by Frank Penney from Vancouver, B.C. Canada on 09/17 at 11:25 PM
