Is it too soon for an election post-mortem?

The renowned political philosopher, Steve McQueen was once asked “how things were going.”

He replied: “It’s like that fella who fell off a ten-story building. As he was falling, people on each floor heard him say, ‘So far, so good.’”

We’ve been purged: Michele and I walked over to the polling center yesterday and discovered that neither of our names was to be found on any list of eligible voters in any local district. After dealing with one inept volunteer after another, we were told something about filling out an affidavit. She and I looked at each other, turned, and left. With apologies to Ralph and Cynthia, I have now officially opted out of the sham of American democracy (sic)...forever.
